William Blackley scores a century as Laois Thirds remain on course for League success.

Laois Cricket Club continued their strong Leinster League campaign on Saturday with a 120 run victory away to Wexford Wanderers. Batting first, William Blackley stole the show to score 104 (not out) as part of an overall total of 233 from their 40 overs. He was well supported by Alok, who scored 69 runs.

In the field, Laois were only able to remove 7 of the Wexford batsmen. However, disciplined bowling form Louis Auret and Ben Hur in particular (both taking 2 wickets for 10 runs) made life difficult for the Wexford men, who finished with 113 after 40 overs. A good win for the thirds, who stay top of the league with 3 games remaining.

The first Team were also in action on Saturday, playing Civil Service in the Phoenix Park. Batting first on an uneven track, Laois scored 159, and looked like they had done enough when Civil Service were 90 for 6 in reply. However, some steady batting from the home side saw them home to take victory by three wickets.

The Second team fixture, also against Civil Service, in Togher on Saturday was cancelled due to rain.
